US Treasury Auction Data Methodology
How Squawkdeck maps, validates and compares official Treasury auction results.
Official source and persistence
Squawkdeck reads the Treasury Securities Auctions dataset published by the US Department of the Treasury, Bureau of the Fiscal Service. Public pages use validated observations persisted by Squawkdeck rather than making live upstream requests during rendering.
Comparable series
Changes and rolling context stay within an exact normalized security series. A 10-year nominal note is not compared with a 10-year TIPS auction, and bills, notes, bonds, TIPS and floating-rate notes remain distinct.
Rates and auction tails
Pages display the official high yield, high investment rate or high discount rate applicable to the result. Squawkdeck does not label a result as a tail or stop-through because that requires a verified contemporaneous when-issued yield.
Completeness and limitations
Null official values remain null. Pages with incomplete result metrics are excluded, and indexation requires sufficient comparable history. Auction results are contextual, delayed information and not investment advice.
